Macroscopie – En touffe. Chapeau 4-8 cm diam., très épais, d’abord globuleux campanulé puis convexe étalé à centre irrégulièrement mamelonné-bossué ou parfois légèrement déprimé; revêtement blanchâtre lavé de bistre et d'ocracé, à squamules brun rougeâtre confluant au sommet du chapeau, dispersées et moins individualisées à la périphérie; marge longtemps incurvée. Pied 3-5 ´ 0,6-1 cm, central, cylindrique dans sa partie supérieure, dilaté vers la base en un bulbe plus ou moins individualisé - 2 cm diam., plein, blanchâtre lavé de bistre et de rose, se tachant légèrement d'ocracé; cordons mycéliens fréquents à la base; anneau membraneux, épais, avec une étroite bande floconneuse de couleur bistre à la base. Lamelles libres, minces, assez étroites, serrées, atténuées à la marge, grisâtres puis bistre olivacé, enfin brun foncé, à arête finement denticulée plus claire. Chair ferme, blanche, rosissant légèrement au froissement. Odeur fongique agréable très légèrement parfumée. Goût prononcé. Sporée brune.
Microscopie – Cheilocystides nulles ou rapidement collapses. Spores lisses, brun rosé foncé, courtement ellipsoïdes, 5,4-6,9 ´ 4,0-4,9 µm.
Ecologie – Saprotrophe, sur le sol; stations rudéralisées, jardins.
Macroscopy – In tuft. Cap 4-8 cm diam., very thick, initially globose, campanulate then convex, spreading with irregularly mamelonate-lobed or sometimes slightly depressed centre; whitish, pileipellis whitish bistre and ochraceous, with reddish-brown squamules confluent at the top of the cap, scattered and less individualized at the periphery; margin long curved. Stipe 3-5 ´ 0,6-1 cm, central, cylindrical in its upper part, enlarged towards the base into a more or less individualized bulb - 2 cm diam., solid, whitish washed with bistre and pink, slightly ocraceous stained; frequent mycelial cords at the base; ring thick, membranous with a narrow flaky band of bistre at the base. Lamellae free, thin, rather narrow, tight, attenuated at the margin, greyish then olive bistre, finally dark brown, with finely toothed lighter ridge. Flesh firm, white, slightly pinkish when wrinkled. Odour fungal pleasant, very slightly perfumed. Taste pronounced. Spore print brown.
Microscopy – Cheilocystidia absent or rapidly collapsing. Spores smooth, dark pinkish brown, short ellipsoid, 5.4-6.9 ´ 4.0-4.9 µm.
Ecology – Saprotrophic, on the ground; ruderalized stations, gardens.
